Guinness World Record Attempt

13th November 2017

The fastest half marathon (male) in a martial arts suit which stands at 1:29:19 is being threatened this upcoming weekend by Chris Newton.

After speaking with Chis we got a few insights on how he's feeling and his thought process in the build up to the event.

"I have chosen to run at the Windsor & Eton Autumn Classic due to the flat course giving me a decent chance at knocking a few minutes off the record" said Chris, who's local knowledge of the running route is a definite advantage to a successful outcome.

When asked why in a martial arts suit? Chris responded "I decided to attempt this record as I have been training in karate for nearly 2 years now and regularly taking part in 5k, 10k and half marathon races since 2011 so thought it would be fitting to combine them". A great reason to suit up and run 13.1miles!

"It's a real achievement to get a world record in anything so just having one of the famous certificates on my wall would be fantastic" he added and we at F3 agree!

We hope to see everyone at Dorney Lake this weekend on November 18th where we're holding the latest edition of The Windsor & Eton Autumn Classic!
