| VOLUNTEERS |
How to become an events volunteerIntroduction There are millions of sports volunteers in the UK and without them many sports events simply would not happen. They are vital to all the F3 Events throughout the year to enable the event to operate smoothly. Volunteers are the back bone of an events success.
Volunteering and its perks If you have ever participated in an event before or been a spectator at event, you would have felt some sort of buzz generated from the participants nervousness at the beginning of their event to exhilaration as they realise there achievement or goal as they cross the finish line. This buzz comes partly from the strong events team supporting the events smooth operation. The team that work on the events all share a particular skill that they want to develop or make use of e.g. strong organisational or presentation skills, and also professional qualifications that they not be otherwise be able to use, unless involved with the events. This can be lifeguarding, life boat driving, pre event briefings, final event checks, marshalling busy, key points on the course and implementing a safe event. Anyone can be a volunteer, which sometimes brings out new skills that can be developed and enhanced very quickly and overall make the events more employable. At each event a team coordinator is introduced that looks after a specific area of the event. A short introduction is always made that ensures any new areas of work are made familiar. It is a great way to meet new people and most importantly have fun. Perks of the job
