Take part in the Meglio Chilterns Triathlon, in the heart of the Thames Valley and only an hour from London.
This is one of the most scenic triathlons in the country around the Chiltern Valley and on the banks of the River Thames to this September, come and celebrate a multitude of activities that combine the Henley Festival of sport.
Based around the grounds of the Hambleden Private Estate and surrounding area.
The Chilterns Triathlon has both a Middles Distance Triathlon, Sprint + Triathlon (Longer Bike Section - 30km) & an Olympic + Triathlon (Longer Bike Section - 55km)
All of these events use some of the roads from the old Challenge Henley Triathlon Course.
The Swim takes place in the river Thames and navigates the world famous Henley Royal Regatta and Temple Island meadows island.
The Bike is a 3 lap course that is a rolling course with one large climb per lap. Anytime lost going up will certainly be made going back down the Stonor Valley, which stretches for nearly 5 miles directly into Henley.
The Run course will be an undulating climb pushing your legs to the test in the final section of the event.
We are very luck to be given exclusive access to Culden Private Estate.
Relax and take in the breath taking scenery and landscape within the Private Estate of Culden Faw known as the Hambleden Estate.
Culden Faw was formed by the amalgamation of Culham Estate, Hambleden Estate and the deer park at Henley Park, Fawley. The Estate comprises some 3500 acres of mature beech woods, rolling pastures, parkland and unspoilt chalk valleys. Its impressive history is documented back as far as the Doomsday Book.
Today, the Estate is run on a commercial basis with an impressive property portfolio, land and farming interests, a forestry business, sporting activities as well as events.
In addition, the Estate owns both Hambleden Village Stores and the Stag and Huntsman Inn in the village of Hambleden.
All the triathlon events are operated under the guidelines of the British Triathlon Federation, which is the governing body for triathlon the UK.
99% of the time, wetsuits have to be worn for this event due to the temperature of the water, generally in the UK and Thames Valley most of the water is between 14 degree Celsius & 22 degrees Celsius. The temperature of the water is always taken at least one hour before an event to determine if wetsuits must be worn.
There will prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Overall male and female, 1st Junior male and female, 1st Vet male and female.
